A WEST Devon holiday park is celebrating, after scooping the regional award in a national competition. John Lewis and his wife Dorothy bought Woodovis Park at Gulworthy in 1999. Keen campers, they gave up their jobs in the South East and swapped the rat-race for a new life in West Devon. Just seven years later, they have seen their holiday park named as regional winner in the UK Top 100 Parks Award run by Practical Caravan magazine. John said: ?We are really thrilled. When we bought the park it was a very run down three star park. It?s now one of a handful of five star parks in the whole of Devon. ?To have been named as one of the top 100 parks in the country was wonderful, but to have won the regional award as well was just magic.? John and Dorothy were presented with their award at a special presentation at the NEC in Birmingham last week. John said: ?We heavily invested our time and money, a labour of love, making lots of significant upgrades to all areas of the park. ?We have both fallen completely in love with Devon and could never contemplate living anywhere else now!?
