SHOPPERS in Okehampton will be able to park for free at various times throughout December, following a decision by the town council to relax parking charges at Simmons Park Car Park.

The move, to support shoppers, visitors and general trading in the town, will see the charges at the car park relaxed after 3pm on weekdays throughout the month.

In addition, charging will be removed on Saturday mornings on December 5, 12 and 19. The existing provisions for free parking on bank holidays will apply on December 25, 26 and 28 and January 1.
