AN exhibition of paintings and etchings by Vincent Wilson is currently at the Wharf, Tavistock, until August 31.
Vincent Wilson has been exhibiting his work extensively in Wales and England and also in Germany and Brittany. As a student he was represented in 'Young Artists from the North of England' at the Walker Art Gallery, Liverpool (1955) and later took part in three Welsh Arts Council exhibitions which toured Wales.
He moved to Cornwall in 1962 and became a full member of both the Newlyn Society of Artists and the Penwith Society of Arts. In 1995 he was elected as a member of the Devon Guild of Craftsmen (Printmaker).
Vincent has had many one man exhibitions including Plymouth City Museum and Art Gallery. Last year he was invited to take part in a Millennium Exhibition at Falmouth Art Gallery 'Twenty Years of Contemporary Arts, 1980-2000', and in an international millennium exhibition at Celle, Germany.
In 1992 a set of etchings was purchased by the British, Foreign and Commonwealth Office for placing in various embassies abroad. Many works are in private collections in Britain and abroad.
