The painting was created by more than 30 members of the public at the recent art event, Live Art on the Spot, held in the Tavistock churchyard in order to promote public engagement in art and to signpost the annual event of 'Open Studios'.
It is anticipated that the painting will be auctioned to raise monies for the church fund. Along with the painting, cash donations collected on the day were also presented.
Many members of the public, young and old, donated money to the church funds and were keen to participate in the event by adding their contribution to the art masterpiece.
During the painting event, local artist Ian Heard gave willing participants an impromptu art class and guidance on technique and colour.
Everyone expressed how much they had enjoyed the event and many claimed that they had not painted since they were at school.
Drawn to the Valley chair, Beverley Moody, said 'We would like to thank Rev Brierley very much for the use of the churchyard, and for his kind offer to use the churchyard for an annual "Live Art on the Spot" event.'
