A WEST Devon company which has invested more than £7 million in nearly five years held its annual meeting in Tavistock recently.

West Devon Homes's fifth annual meeting at The Wharf was attended by invited guests who heard a presentation by chairman Simon Howes and chief executive Stuart Davies. It was also an opportunity to say goodbye to Mr Davies, the outgoing chief executive.

Mr Howes said: 'Stuart has established a "can do" culture within the company. He has overseen a period of sustained good performance and increased investment — tenants, staff and the board are all sorry to see him go.'

During his time at West Devon Homes, Mr Davies has overseen an investment programme of nearly £7 million which has seen extensive renovations and improvements in the company's housing stock.

The company has received praise from the industry regulator and has established a major development programme which will see more than 150 new affordable homes built across the borough.

Mr Davies said: 'I shall always look back on my time at West Devon Homes with pride and with many wonderful memories.'

Former chairman Derrick Pinckard presented Mr Davies (pictured right) with a painting of Dartmoor as a reminder of his years in West Devon. Mr Davies is moving with his family to Devizes, where he will take up the post of managing director with Sarsen Housing Association.
