CHRISTMAS is starting early at Tavistock Library with a 'gadget day' tomorrow (Friday).

Local suppliers Games and Computers, the Technology Company and WH Smith will be in the library with a selection of the latest gadgets for people to try out and ask questions about. The event, from 10am to noon, is free.

On December 17 at 2pm, the library will be hosting Christmas Bounce and Rhyme for toddlers and their families, where library staff will be handing out mince pies for parents and Father Christmas will stop by to distribute goodies for the children.

The library is also hosting a Christmas coffee morning on Friday, December 20, from 10am to noon, when staff will be serving free tea, coffee and an assortment of cakes and biscuits to customers as a thank you for their support during the year.

Throughout December, the library will be collecting donations for Tavistock Foodbank. The Foodbank works to make sure that people affected by the changes in the benefit system can eat. This Christmas, the Foodbank is hoping to give out festive food, such as Christmas puddings, mince pies, crisps, sweets, biscuits and non-alcoholic beverages. Anyone who can donate any of these things can drop items off at the library.
