Tavistock U14s 12 Okehampton U14s 0 TAVISTOCK started this game with pace and strong play. They controlled the rucks and mauls with fine play by Josh Evans and George Coiley,. Carl Rowe in the centres executed some excellent tackles, but it was an individual try by Miles Ross that made it 5-0 when he ran from his own half to place the ball between the Okehampton posts. Ollie Wheeldon?s conversion made it 7-0, which was the half time score. Tavistock continued to control the game in the second half and a fine run by Rowe was only broken close to the Okehampton line. Okehampton tried to fight back but there was no way past the Tavistock defence. Ross secured the victory when he scored try number two after some text book passing along the Tavistock backs line. Okehampton U13s 10 Tavistock U13s 25 TAVISTOCK started well with the backs moving the ball out wide however it was a tried and tested forward move that put the first points on the board. A short range penalty taken on by Joe Hair who popped the ball to flanker Josh Leeson in close support to score. The backs continued to attack well with some great running rugby resulting in winger George Rodgers going over in the corner. Both sides fought over the loose ball rucks and it was Tavistock second row James Lockley who broke through to score the a third try. After the first quarter Okehampton changed up a gear and took control of the forward game pushing Tavistock into defence. A well worked move saw Jordan Lee pull one back for Okehampton before the turn round. The home team continued to pile on the pressure in the second half and crossed the line again with their big new number eight Kirk Forgham. An inspired Josh Stephens winger for Tavistock stopped a Okehampton attack with a perfect solo tackle and minutes later got on the end of a three quarter run to the line. The play moved to the other wing for Richard Henson to have his attempt held up. The wingers here kept busy throughout the match due to the fine work coming along the line of Phillip Snell at scrum half, the inventive Jack Morgan at ten and the running centres Elliot Hoyte and captain Barnaby Frost.
