FOLLOWING his successful year as president of the Rotary Club of Tavistock, the well-known local athlete and marathon runner Trevor Williams, passed on the presidency to Rotarian John Morton at the club's recent meeting.

John said Trevor's success would be a hard act to follow, whether running on the track or as president of the Rotary Club.

He said: 'It is a privilege for me to represent our members, many of whom have and will continue to contribute in many different ways so much to the Tavistock community. I am very proud to be part of the worldwide family of Rotary.

'I shall ensure that the club continues its proud record of supporting communities both locally and internationally, making a difference both physically and financially under the banner of Rotary.'
