AT the recent Tavistock Lions Club 41st Charter dinner, president Paul Blowey presented two long standing members, Steve Grummitt and Chris Northey with ‘Melvin Jones Fellowship’ awards for their outstanding commitment and loyalty to Tavistock Lions over a large number of years.

Both well-known faces in Tavistock, Steve has been involved with the Lions for over 39 years being president 3 times, whilst Chris, who has also been a long standing member of the club for 28 years, has twice taken on the role of president.

Both are still heavily involved with each event that the club organises and without their commitment and enthusiasm, the club would not be as successful as it is, being the largest club in the SW region.

Paul added, “I was very pleased to be able to bestow upon Steve and Chris the Melvin Jones Fellowship which is the first ever for members of Tavistock Lions.
