OKEHAMPTON Otters travelled to their first swimming gala of the season at Honiton on Saturday, September 23. The event was a five-team gala for IMPS aged eleven and under and Okehampton was competing against teams from Honiton, Exmouth, Sidvale and Kingsbridge. In a very even contest, Okehampton eventually gained first place, winning by three points. Sidvale were in second place, Exmouth were in third. The following Otters achieved first place in their races: George Roberts, 50m and 100m breaststroke; Sam Collett, 50m backstroke; Martha Bright, 50m backstroke; Chloe Blackmur, 25m fly As well as the five first places, Okehampton swimmers also gained seventeen second places, and thirteen third places. Among those swimming in their first gala were Chloe Rutley, Rachel Stocks, Ella Creamer, James Alexander, Phoebe Dawe, William Cooper and Daniel Squire.
