A RAMSLEY woman who had a prized otter ornament stolen by thieves recently has received a replacement otter to take up pride of place in her garden.

Three weeks ago, the Okehampton Times reported the theft of the otter ornament and vandalism to the garden at the home of Girlie Cooper and her husband Jim, at Ramsley, South Zeal.

The story was read by S and D Stores and Restaurant at Winkleigh Airfield. Recognising the couple as customers, shopkeepers Steve and Shirley planned a surprise for Girlie on her next visit.

When Girlie and Jim visited the shop last week for a meal, they were presented with a replacement otter.

The otter has now been installed in a prominent position in the couple?s garden among the display much appreciated by neighbouring residents.
