OKEHAMPTON Running Club was well represented in the ninth Ruby Run half marathon by the 'Team Holmes' and 12 members taking home three of the trophies.

Another member, Chris Hancock ran in his local team. This race is notorious for always being very hot but this year it took place in heavy rain and a good wind. Runners also had to contend with the extra climb involved with this year's route being from Hatherleigh to Holsworthy, a distance of 13.1 miles.

Overall winner was Vicky Pincombe from North Tawton in 1.19.13. ORCs chairman, Andy Vallance, was third with a time of 1.21.38. ORCs 'Team Holmes' won the team event thanks to the efforts of Jayne West, Rebecca Walker, Claire Mortimer, Karen Vallance, Jo-Anne Fletcher and Sophie Halliday.

Marilyn Cooper took the F55 award for the second year in succession.
