KIT Hill is a distinctive feature of the landscape of South East Cornwall and this year, Callington Heritage Centre commemorates not just the 25 years since the Duke of Cornwall gave the hill to the people of Cornwall, but at least 6,000 years of its 290 million year history.

Kit Hill is unique in that so much history can be found in such a small area, and throughout the season which runs from April 17 to October 31 the Heritage Centre will be featuring many aspects of the story of the hill.

This Saturday at 10am the exhibition will be opened by Ann Eade. Ann has not only lived on the hill for more than half a century but has written a trilogy of books on the subject, one being entitled 'Kit Hill, Our Hill'.

Ann, who has been prominent in the Girl Guide movement in Cornwall, has contributed to the secondary exhibition commemorating the 100th anniversary of the Girl Guide movement.

The Heritage Centre will be open on Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Bank Holiday Mondays throughout the season, from 10am to 4pm, subject to there being enough volunteer stewards.
