AFTER a gap of more than eight months the Post Office in Lydford has re-opened in its new premises at Nicholls Hall. Chair of the parish council, Kate Boyd, and the parish council clerk, David Evans, last Tuesday presented a welcoming bouquet to Sally Edwards. Mrs Edwards is the post mistress at Mary Tavy who will also run the operation in Lydford. She said she looked forward to providing this service to Lydford parishioners and hopes to expand the range of products available, to cater for the needs of villagers as the facility grows. The service will be open every Tuesday and Friday between 11.30am and 3.30pm from a room in the village hall. All facilities and services currently offered by Mary Tavy Post Office will also be available in Lydford.
