East Cornwall division one Tavistock Seconds 4 Holsworthy Seconds 0 TAVISTOCK entertained a changed Holsworthy team who fielded a few first team players. It was end to end in the first 20 minutes, with Holsworthy?s defence forcing home strikers McPherson and Bray with long range efforts. The deadlock was broken when a well taken corner from Jamie Martin fell to Andy Parnoski to slot home from six yards. This upped the tempo and Tavistock rushed forward with one touch, passing football involving Luke McPherson, Chris Bray and Bret Charlick. This led to the goal of the match from Jamie Martin, who smashed the ball into the net from a terrific crossfield pass from Cowling. Holsworthy put the pressure on Tavistock in the second half, but good defending from Hajiani and Parnoski kept it goalless, giving goalkeeper Rowe little to do. Holsworthy?s heads dropped when a poor clearance fell to Adam McPherson, who set up Paul Cowling to finish. Minutes later brother Luke McPherson found Cowling, who ghosted past the two defenders to finish from an acute angle.
