Exeter Saracens U15s 24 Okehampton U15s 25 OKEHAMPTON forwards took on the much bigger Saracens pack with front row of Scott Simpson, Tom Richards and Sam Woodhams taking five balls against the head in the scrums. Scrum-half, Richard Friend linked well with new fly-half Tom McGratton, who made several good breaks. Saracens scored first from an Okehampton fumble. Okehampton then scored when the backs moved the ball wide and centre Carl Poynton, went outside his man for a 30 metre sprint to score in the corner. Centre Tom Browne then intercepted a pass on the half-way line, ran 10 metres and timed a perfect pass for Poynton to score under the posts. Poynton converted. Saracens scored again from another Okehampton mistake to level the score for half time. The second half was more even between the two packs as Okehampton started to tire, but the backs were still a lot sharper and as Okehampton got near to Saracens 22 they would concede penalties at rucks and mauls to stop Okehampton spinning the ball wide ? Poynton converted two. Flanker Luke Crocker secured a loose ball for Rob Long to break through to score under the post ? Poynton converting to make it 12-25 with four minutes left to play. Saracens scored again from an Okehampton mistake, adding the conversion. From Okehampton?s restart Saracens; big pack ran hard at Okehampton and controlled the ball well passing out of the tackles. Exeter scored 15 metres in from the touch line, the conversion went high over the upright with one touch judge giving the kick and the other not. The final decision went to the referee who said it was outside the post for Okehampton to win by a single point.
