THE village park being built in Yelverton by the local community is nearing completion and organisers are looking for a final effort to provide a full range of facilities for the village children.

Yelverton community projects chairman Brian Medhurst said play equipment for toddlers will be

installed in a few weeks, together with an adventure trail and swings for older children, and a five-a-side football pitch for the teenagers. For the adults there will be seating and tables.

'What we now need is further financial support to enable us to include a full range of equipment for the young people in the village. Any contribution would be most welcome. Physical help is also most welcome and any volunteers to help with our on-site working parties should get in touch,' he said.
