WEST Devon still has the chance to nominate members of their local community to become a 'Harpers Hero'.

Meadowlands Leisure Pool and Parklands Okehampton leisure centres have extended their deadline for the awards scheme, which celebrates members of the communities' major fitness goals and achievements.

Winners from the West Devon area will be named in nine categories: Sport: celebrating achievements of sports teams within our facilities, Shape: celebrating a member's weight loss achievement, Health: celebrating achievement of a health related goal, and Fitness: celebrating a fitness related achievement. Awards will also be given to the coach of the year, personal trainer/fitness professional of the year and Harpers team of the year. Finally, a lifetime achievement award and a hero award for overall achievement will be presented.
