WEST Devon Olympian Heather Fell will be strutting her stuff on live TV this weekend, as she takes part in 'Let's Dance for Sport Relief'.

Modern pentathlete Heather, who won a silver medal at the Beijing Olympics in 2008, will be taking to the dance floor with sportsmen and women, including swimming star Mark Foster, gymnast Leon Taylor and high jumper Dalton Grant, in the first of a series Saturday night dance specials.

Heather said: 'I am going to London on Wednesday. I don't really know anything about the dance — but they wanted to know my head size and dress size!

'I'm just hoping I will be laughing with people, rather than everyone laughing at me. It's quite exciting but I think by the end of the week I'm going to be quite nervous.

'I've had to miss one of the training days, so the other dancers are going to be a day ahead of me — I just hope I will be able to catch up.

'I enjoy dancing but I am certainly not a dancer — I am hoping we will be able to laugh at ourselves.'

Heather will be among some very famous faces in this year's series — some of those donning their dancing shoes include Katy Brand, Lesley Joseph, Peter Shilton and Dennis Taylor.

The show will see celebrities pay homage to iconic dance routines in a bid to be crowned champion of the dance floor. They will work with a team of top choreographers to master the moves and with a team of stylists to represent their dance icon's look.

This year's contestants will be judged by a new panel — predominantly featuring faces from the world of comedy and celebrities who performed last year. Comedians confirmed so far are Jack Dee and Frank Skinner.

Claudia Winkleman and Steve Jones host the show — the series will culminate in a spectacular final dance off on Saturday March 13.

Who goes through and who gets a chance to compete in the final will be down to the public and the panel. Proceeds from the voting will go to Sport Relief.

Heather, who admitted to being somewhat nervous at the thought of dancing on live TV before an audience of millions of people, said: 'It would be quite nice to get some home support for the voting!'

Comedian Robert Webb was crowned champion in last year's series, when he wowed the public and judges in the grand final with his spectacular rendition of Flashdance: What A Feeling.
