STANNARY Brass Band has a great fundraising idea for new instruments. Band members are asking the people of Tavistock to hand in their old mobile phones for recycling. They may have played a tune when someone rang you, but the band can use them to help a child learn to play lots of tunes on a brass instrument.
Please take your old phone to Lee Furneaux' Books which occupies a corner at the west end of Tavistock Market.
A collection box for phones will be there on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays and Saturdays until 4pm — and also on Sundays from the end of November until Christmas.
The band asks that you please remove your sim card first and ensure that you are over 18 if you have a phone to donate.
