Teignmouth 3

Okehampton Argyle 0

ARGYLE were forced to shuffle their line up at high flying Teignmouth after key defenders Graham Soby and James Williams failed to turn up. With Matt Mortimer the only defender in the 14 man squad, manager Stuart Cann included himself in the middle of the back three and midfielder Stuart Entwhistle had to play in an unaccustomed right full back position.

However, the reshuffled side acquitted themselves well in the first half and created the better chances.

Hard work in midfield and at the back saw chances created for Adam Mortimer and Steve Williams, but Teignmouth keeper Liam Jones showed fine form to keep the home side in the match.

Okehampton were unlucky 10 minutes before the interval when Steve Williams cleverly got past his marker and released a shot which beat Jones, only for it to come back into play off the inside of the post.

Teignmouth's half-time talk seemed to pep them up and they came out after the break looking the more determined side. The half was only one minute old when a quick throw-in was cleverly flicked on by Adam Fay for Graig Stonelake to score at the near post.

Within a minute, the game was all over for Argyle as former Exeter City player Geoff Breslan won Teignmouth a penalty. Breslan stepped up to bury the penalty and Teignmouth went on to have the better of the half, adding a third goal eight minutes from time through Mark Dyson.

Man of the match for Okehampton was keeper Saul Scarry who made several good saves and had no chance with any of the goals.
