THE BIGGEST May Fair yet took place in Okehampton last Sunday with a multitude of stalls, a craft tent, Maypole dancing, chainsaw crafting demonstrations, a martial arts display and dog show. There was plenty of fun to be had by all and Times photographer James Bird captured it on camera.

FORMER Mayor of West Devon Borough Christine Marsh and Cllr Paul Vachon, current Mayor of Okehampton (both pictured above), were each presented with a certificate of appreciation by the vice chairman of the Royal British Legion of Devon Ron Reynolds, at the May Fair, for their efforts in raising money for the Poppy Appeal during their terms of office.

Flight Lieutenant Andy Oliver, officer commanding 2443 (Okehampton) Squadron Air Training Corps, was also recognised by the Legion for helping to raise substantial funds for the Poppy Appeal when taking part in the London Marathon recently.
