OPM A 4

OKEHAMPTON were looking to bounce back from last week's defeat and this match started well for them having numerous chances at the visitors' defence.

The breakthrough came after ten minutes with a short corner when Jake Lloyd went past the OPM defence, lined him- self up for the shot and struck the ball into the back of the net.

Okehampton started to control the play with Chris Searle and Dave Hanks bossing the centre midfield and Jacob Lloyd, controlling the attack, looked sharp as ever and got a well deserved second five minutes later to make it 2-0.

OPM started to get in the game a little but were thwarted by the Oke defence of Ian Miller, John Yells and Sam Spry.

The second half didn't start well for Okehampton with OPMs looking more fired up and they managed to get a goal back shortly after the break.

Clearly rattled by the goal, Okehampton's shape fell apart which allowed OPM to get a one on one with the keeper which ended with Oke keeper Pete Sim allowing the ball to roll past him and into the net.

After a bad five minutes, Okehampton regained their composure and started to play their fluid style of hockey and regained the lead with Lloyd going past the OPM defence laying the ball off to Darren Reed for a tap in.

Oke went on the hunt for a fourth but were twice caught on the break and OPM had taken the lead for the first time in this match.

Oke looked for the equaliser but OPM held on to win this great, competitive game.

Oke man of the match: Jacob Lloyd.
