OKEHAMPTON Ladies? Hockey Club had a successful day at the Devon County Veterans? Tournament in Plymouth on Sunday.
The competition was divided into two parallel leagues with the winner and runners-up progressing to the semi-finals.
Okehampton took time to settle in their first match against Mannamead, but still secured a draw.
They faced stiff opposition from eventual league winners Exeter Ladies, losing the match 2-0.
Okehampton?s fortunes then changed when they beat Paignton 2-1, then dominated the game against Plym Valley,winning 2-0, with goals from Chris Lethbridge and Viv Weatherington.
Okehampton finished runners-up in their league, securing them a semi-final draw with the National League Exmouth Ladies.
Undaunted by the stature of the opposition Okehampton played their best hockey of the day, marking their opposition tightly and defendig with conviction.
Okehampton only conceded two goals, but were unable to put the ball past the keeper, which put Exmouth through to the final.
