OKEHAMPTON Golf Club ladies? section congratulated the new lady captain, Janet Hatch and her vice-captain Sylvia Caunter, and wished them success for the coming year.
The Daily Mail Foursomes was won by Marcia Holwill and Marcia Jones with a spectacular score of 66.
The two Marcias had more success by winning two summer knock-out competitions. Marcia Jones won the Rose Bowl and Marcia Holwill the Jarman Bowl.
Jenni Hutchinson was the winner of a fun competition, three clubs and a putter and was well ahead of the rest of the field.
The monthly medal competition was won by Janet Hatch. Lorna Rolfe and Cherry James both won par competitions with Cherry moving into the silver division.
Jean Adams won the ladies? turkey trot with a good score of 39 points and had her handicap cut by six shots.
The ladies held a charity coffee morning at the golf club and raised £277.10 which has been donated to Macmillan Nurses.
