OKEHAMPTON Argyle FC celebrated an excellent season for the club at their presentation evening held at the Fingle Glen Hotel. The newly formed ladies' team had finished third in division two of the Devon Women's League, and the men's first team had established themselves at step seven in the FA pyramid by finishing mid-table in the newly formed South West Peninsula League - a fine achievement for a totally amateur team in a league where most of the opposition are paying their players. The second XI had an excellent season and won the Devon and Exeter intermediate one championship and the Stan Wilson cup and had reached the semi- finals of two other cup competitions. Not to be outdone, the thirds had finished runners- up in the Devon and Exeter intermediate four division. Another honour for the club was that they had been awarded the best ground award in division one east of the South West Peninsula League. After an excellent meal, the following awards were presented by secretary Charlie Bond and the team managers: Club person of the year, Adrian Osman; Golden boot, John Coakley; the Michael Drew trophy, Elliot Collins. Ladies' team: manager's player, Kerry Drew; players' player, Abby Williams; most improved player, Hayley Morris. First XI: manager's player, Dan Malcolm; players' player, Dan Malcolm. Second XI: manager's player, Dan Leahy; players' player, Harry Geering. Third XI: manager's player, Richard Caron; players' player, Neil Clift.
