Okehampton A 1
Torbay 1
THIS game decided the league winners, and only a win would secure it for Okehampton. Understandably pressure and nerves affected both teams, after an edgy start, Oke started to dominate and it was only a matter of time that a goal was scored from a short corner, put in by Josh Balsdon and finished by Luke Miller.
With Oke leading, the nerves returned and Torbay started to pressure the Okehampton defence, which lead to the equaliser which took the teams into half time with everything to play for.
The second half saw some great midfield play from Sam Spry, Alex Emuss and Adam Cockayne feeding Oke strikers Josh Balsdon, Jake Lloyd and Stuart Jarvis who continued to pressure the Torbay defence. Some great defence from man of the match Luke Liversage, Renier Rademaker and Ian Miller fended off some Torbay's attacks. With the heat of the afternoon affecting the players game the introduction of Dan Rademaker and Will Cooper saw the pace of Okehampton increase, which lead to a penalty flick for Oke, unfortunately Luke Miller was unable to convert. They continued to press with some superb work from Tim Morgan and excellent keeping from Andy Harvey the whole team were giving 100 per cent and were unlucky that they could not score the winner but this game ends a fantastic season of hockey for Okehampton A.
