A WEST Devon nursery school has impressed inspectors and received a good rating in a recent Ofsted inspection.
Oftsed inspectors found the setting of Edgemoor Nursery School and Day Care Centre, Yelverton, to be outstanding in the outcome for the early years foundation stage — the extent to which children achieve and enjoy their learning, and gave the nursery an overall grading of good.
The inspector spent a day in the setting, and found the children enjoyed the care of a stable staff team, who know their individual needs particularly well.
Safeguarding and the children's welfare was found to be a clear priority for the staff, with secure systems for monitoring access to the nursery in place.
The inspector found that a genuine sense of community prevailed throughout the school with many families using the nursery over a number of years.
One parent said: 'Having had children at Edgemoor Nursery for the past nine years, I would like to congratulate them on the hard work and achievements of their recent Ofsted. They have managed to maintain the ethos and friendly, flexible nursery the children love while meeting the ever challenging targets of child care.'
Karan Horsley, the nursery owner expressed thanks to her staff who have worked consistently and with diligence in the last few years to raise standards across the nursery.
The nursery offers full day care for children aged from 0-5 years. There are some spaces available — for more information or to arrange a visit, call 01822 855644.
