THE parish of South Tawton will go to the polls to elect its new parish councillor today (Thursday).
Seven candidates have stepped forward to seek the approval of voters in the parish.
The vacancy on the council arose following the death of Cllr Arthur Madders in January.
The candidates are: Carol Coombs; Brian Jeffrey; Joan Lethbridge; Kenneth Shaddick; Tracey Smith; Jane White and Bryan Woodland.
The Victory Hall, South Zeal will be serving as the polling station, and will be open from 8am-9pm.
