SPORTS charity OCRA is still looking for support from the community to secure funding to help local sport continue to flourish.
The charity is putting together a bid to Sport England's Community Sport Activation Fund to support local sport, fitness and recreation across West Devon.
The Community Sport Activation Fund is a £47.5 million Lottery funding programme providing grassroots activity at a very local level.
Based on local need and evidence, the fund is designed to invest in programmes that work best for specific areas.
The kind of projects Sport England is expecting to fund through the scheme include multi-sport activities which provide people with a range of choices and opportunities to suit them and local activator roles that focus on directly organising and delivering new opportunities for participation.
The charity now needs feedback from sports clubs, community groups, agencies and individuals who have benefitted from OCRA in recent years to help shape their application.
They appealed for feedback back in February but still need to hear from more groups and individuals to help with the bid.
Stuart Lord of OCRA said: 'Thank you to all the people who have responded so positively so far.
'If you haven't already, please get in touch as soon as possible. Over the years OCRA has been involved in developing local sport and recreation which many people have been involved with and benefitted from in different ways.
'This funding would enable us to continue that support and also help clubs, organisations and individuals maintain and develop sport in the area.
'Please help us shape an application that also represents your needs and that of the area.
'Blue sky thinking is encouraged for any ways we can maintain and develop sport, fitness, dance and activities for all ages and abilities.'
You can help by passing on the answers to the following questions to OCRA:
How has OCRA helped you over the years? How has their work benefitted other people? What sport and activity are you involved with and who does it benefit? What areas do you feel need support over the next three years to help maintain and develop local sport and recreation? What comments of your own do you have to make on sport in the area?
These comments can be sent to [email protected]">[email protected] or by calling 01837 54546.
