AT the time of writing this letter, I counted at least 50 letters of representation to West Devon Borough Council objecting to the proposed new public house in West Street, I also noticed absolutely no letters of support for this change of use. The letters objecting were from a combination of local rate paying residents, local businesses employing local people and Tavistock people with the good of the town at heart ? and the common theme is that the good of Tavistock and the majority of its people will not be serviced by another public house. So, I implore the council?s planning committee to consider the objections from the vast majority of Tavistock?s rate paying voters and reject this planning application as it is clearly not in the best interests of the town and its people.
