STUDENTS from Tavistock College are being encouraged to use their ipods and MP3 players as a tool to support their learning and revision. Year 11 students are in the middle of their language oral exams and to help them revise, the modern languages department has recorded each student's individual oral presentations and general conversation questions and turned them into a series of podcasts. A podcast is a sound file which can be used on a PC, an MP3 payer, an ipod or a mobile phone. The technology allows the students to revise for their language oral exam while travelling to school on the bus, running at the gym or with their friends. Anna Mills, head of French, said: 'We are hoping that by making the curriculum more widely and easily accessible to students it will encourage them to prepare themselves for their speaking exam, where a little more effort may result in an additional good GCSE grade.'
