THE kick boxing skills of a Bere Alston man have netted him a major title. Rob Hingston, from the Taurus Kick Boxing Club in Tavistock, took the lightweight South West area title after an outstanding performance in all his fights. Rob, 23, knocked out his three opponents in the first round, second, and another in the third. He then went on to fight top 10 ranked Lucas Blackov for the final fight and knocked him out in the second round to win the title. Taurus Kick Boxing Club founder Jimmy Hamilton said Rob had been kick boxing since the Taurus Club opened three years ago, and had competed in a number of events on the road to achieving the South West title. The Taurus Kick Boxing Club meets at Tavistock Community College on a Wednesday night at 6.30pm and is open for women and men. New members are welcome.
