After four events in the British Triathlon South West Series, Zest Youth Triathlon are growing in strength and notching up great results. The quality of the competition improved again this year with West Devons Zest athletes, all from the Tavistock and surrounding area and aged between 8-16, stepping up to the task and imposing themselves across the age groups. New to Tristar one this year, Matthew Green and Jordan Channon have all shown great improvement and spirit earning good positions including two second places for Jordan. In Tristar two, Will Carter, Sam O?Boyle, Reece Merriot, Tom Green, newcomer Beth Merriot, Molly Medgicks and Kate Marks have improved with every race while Reece Worth has taken straight wins giving him first place for the series so far. Zest newcomers Sarah Hornby and Hannah Ball have joined Amy Marks, Sam Harmsworth and Oliver Lake. They compete along with Cameron Carpenter-Warren and Rebecca Windemer from Kelly College. All these Tristar three athletes have all scored highly in the series. Rebecca has taken second and third places. In the Youth age group Zests athletes dominate with Laura Aspen taking a first and second place in her two races and Jessica Fennell first place in her debut aquathlon race. Head coach Paul Chinn said: ?The hard work Zest athletes have put in this year to developed their skills and fitness levels is showing its worth. ?These athletes also show great character and individual determination to perform at this level, some being new to these highly competitive races. I look forward to the races left in the series where I am sure all of the Zest athletes will to perform to their best levels, maintaining and improving their overall positions.?
