Camborne School of Mines 3
Tavistock A 1
Tavistock faced a long trip to Camborne to play a rearranged league fixture on a windy Sunday. Camborne are certainties for promotion having overcome most other league opposition comfortably.
Camborne School of Mines made most of the early running yet Tavistock were the ones who won a number of early short corners, Phil Edwards going close on a number of occasions.
Camborne took the lead via a short corner of their own shortly before half time, yet this didn't dent Tavistock's confidence.
Once the second half got underway the away side proved they were still well in the game, the midfield of Cowen, Lovett and Jeffries working well together down the left-hand side.
Rundle in defence was having a storming match, however Camborne quickly raced into a 3-0 lead when their centre forward just beat George to the ball to nick a goal.
Their third goal came from a breakaway at an acute angle, the ball was smashed past 'keeper Osborne into the roof of the net.
Tavistock managed a consolation goal through their youngest player, Matt Edwards. He received the ball from Cowen, took one touch to control it and expertly placed it past the 'keeper inside the far post.
This gave Tavistock a lift and the away side finished strongly, sadly this last effort was just a little too late.
