I WOULD like to express my heartfelt thanks to all those who attended the public inquiry on Thursday June 22 and packed the Charter Hall, Okehampton. Over a hundred people turned up and about 30 made known their views against the turbine application, with one speaking for it. An impressively broad spectrum of opinions was articulated - to such an extent that I was asked the following morning who had orchestrated it! My response was that God must be a Devonian, so no orchestration was needed. There is no doubt that the inspector saw at first hand the reaction in the community, and all concerned must be applauded for having the courage of their convictions and making the effort when it was most needed.
