OKEHAMPTON firefighters were called to assist with a nine-vehicle crash on the A30 in West Devon last Saturday. The accident occurred on the westbound carriageway at the Woodleigh junction. The Okehampton crews were joined by two appliances from Exeter. Okehampton fire chief Ian Donovan said no-one was seriously injured in the crash ? the crews helped people from their vehicles, administered first aid and made the vehicles safe. The road was closed for a short time in case the air ambulance was required, but opened shortly after, causing minimal traffic disruption.
