SOUTH Zeal played the whole of the first half in this East Devon cup match with just nine players as injuries took their toll on a small squad.

Four-nil down at half time, re-enforcements arrived and as a result the second half was more of a contest.

The home side went five up early in the second half but with 11 players now on the pitch Zeal fought back and reduced the deficit when first Darren Gilbert latched onto a great pass from Tom Reilly and finished well after rounding the keeper and finishing well from an acute angle. Then Harley Cann was played in by Dan Wakeham and produced a great finish as he chipped the oncoming St Cyres keeper.

The home sides defence were now starting to panic as the visitors attacked to try and get back in the game however the home sides goal led a charmed life and as Zeal pushed everyone forward in the final 10 minutes St Cyres scored twice more for an emphatic victory and passage into the quarter finals.
