MORNING prayer for Palm Sunday was conducted by Mrs Sheila White from Exbourne. The organist was Derek Chivers and Mrs Ruth Squire was duty sidesman.

The passion readings from St Mark's Gospel were read by various members of the congregation and Palm crosses were distributed.

In the evening there was a united service, starting in the church and processing across the square to chapel. It was conducted by the Revs Ruth Hansford and John Peak, the readings being given by Brenda Curtis and Freda Stratton. the cross was carried by Peter Spry and the organists were Mr Chivers and Miss Curtis. Refreshments were served in the Chapel Hall.

The Easter Sunday services, both the Anglican and Methodist Churches, will be at 9.30am.

NORTHLEW Allotment Association is planning a car boot sale to be held in the school playground on May 14 from 10am to 1pm. £6 for each car and refreshments will be available. For further information ring Cheryl on 01409 221796

ON the day of the Royal Wedding there will be a picnic tea in the Square — please bring contributions for the tea cakes, sandwiches and so on to the churchroom by midday.

There will also be fancy dress for the children and distribution of mugs to commemorate the occasion.
