NORTHLEW Community Allotment Association held the second annual village show on September 8.

The event was a great success with an increase of numbers of entries and was well supported.

Mrs Julie James, who organised the day, expressed thanks to everyone who entered the various classes, and came to view the entries.

More than £90 was raised for allotment association funds.

CELEBRANT at parish communion on Sunday was the Rev Ruth Hansford. D Chivers was organist and Dr M Livingstone read the lesson. During the service little Esmie Rose Andrew was baptised — and enjoyed every moment of the occasion. Esmie, the daughter of Kathryn and Christopher, lives at Belstone and her family has a long history in Northlew.

PRESCRIPTIONS, which used to be left at Pound Cottage, Northlew, by Okehampton Medical Centre, are now available to be collected from Northlew Shop, during opening hours.
