THE second race of Weir Quay Sailing Club's Frostbite Winter series was run in light winds with heavy rain descending, boats racing over a triangular course running out from the Weir Quay slipway towards Cargreen.
John Tomlinson in his Wayfarer got away ahead of the fleet leading from start to finish in the fast handicap.
In the slow handicap, Tony Newman in a Mirror sailed higher to windward then his rivals and led his class throughout.
Results — fast handicap: 1, John Tomlinson, Wayfarer, 43 mins 39.5 secs; 2, Alan Seward, National 12, 45 mins 27 secs; 3, Rob Brereton, Wayfarer, 47 mins 42 sec.
Slow handicap — 1, Tony Newman, Mirror, 41 mins 52 secs; 2, Steve King, Skipper, 45 mins 45 secs.
