THE annual speedpool competition, run by the Rotary Club of Okehampton for the ninth year, was held at the Fox and Hounds, Bridestowe last Wednesday.
There was some competitive play with a new winner of the £50 first prize, John Butt, who cleared the table in 1minute 26 seconds, just short of the competition record of 1 minute 22 seconds held by Dave Luxton.
The runner-up was Craig Holland.
The proceeds go to charities and this year the £415 raised is for the St John Ambulance, Okehampton branch towards a badly needed new ambulance.
Over the nine years the event has raised £4,200.
The Rotary Club expressed thanks to all participants, their sponsors and to Fox and Hounds landlord Frank Ward and his staff for hosting the event.
