A BRAND new website has this week been launched, aimed at telling people everything they need to know about the exciting Ruby Country Initiative.
The website, at http://www.therubycountry.com">www.therubycountry.com aims to provide a useful tool for promoting all aspects of the area known as Ruby Country, which lies in the heart of Devon between Hatherleigh and Holsworthy.
Whether residents or visitors want to know about local produce, crafts, accommodation, attractions or wildlife, the website will be regularly updated with new information and new events.
Rosie Austin, Ruby Country co-ordinator, said: ?We have been working on creating an attractive and user-friendly website and are pleased with the final result.
?The website also offers a text-only version as a stepping stone towards greater accessibility.?
Rosie said there were numerous pages to view.
They include:
l Things to do, including details of the Ruby Trails for walkers, cyclists and horse riders.
l Places to stay, with listings of accredited accommodation providers.
l Places to eat, with links to the Devon Foodfinders website.
l Our area, with a separate page for each of the 45 parishes within the area.
l Produce and crafts.
l Developing Ruby, with business information and contacts and a history of the initiative.
Wendy Hannaford, Ruby Country assistant, said: ?We would really love to receive more information about the various parishes, including local traditions, history and events and would be pleased if people could contact us with any information they have.?
Anyone who can help with information for the website should call Wendy on 01409 220036 or e-mail [email protected]">[email protected]
