A NEW Okehampton town bus service is now in operation, serving many of the housing estates in the town. As well as still providing a frequent service to and from Giblands, Hunters Gate and Moyses Meadow, the service has now been extended to include the Railway Station, Leeze Park and Okehampton Community Hospital. The 318 bus service is operated by Carmel Coaches, using a low-floored easy access bus, which is suitable for carrying pushchairs and prams as well as being able to accommodate a wheelchair- bound person. Timetables for the new service can be obtained from the driver or the Tourist Information Centre.
