At the recent annual meeting of the Plymouth and West Devon Talking Newspaper, several changes to personnel were announced.
Following the death of its president Lord Morley, Ted Martin was adopted unanimously as the new president.
Ted has been a long time member of the Talking Newspaper, spending many years as its chairman. His election to president is in recognition of his work for the organisation.
Ravi Jianghani, owner of the Post Office and One Stop Shop in Tavistock was elected as vice president in recognition of the help and understanding he has shown towards the Talking Newspaper in his capacity of landlord.
Paul Edge, treasurer for the past eleven years, stood down at the meeting. He received a hearty vote of thanks from members for all his work over that time. He is replaced by Brian Kinsman, a former bank manager, who brings his expertise to this position.
The Talking Newspaper produces a weekly edition for the blind and partially sighted in the Plymouth and West Devon area, which is sent out on memory sticks. Anyone who qualifies can receive this free of charge by contacting the secretary, John Harris, on 01822 613611 or on [email protected]
