PLANNING consent is being sought for the change of use of a former retail store in West Street, Tavistock to a premises serving alcohol. Peter Brown has applied for change of use of No 8 West Street to A4 use which covers food and drink establishments including restaurants and public houses. The premises has not been in commercial use for ten years, despite being advertised for let for this purpose for three years by the current owner. Pub chain J D Wetherspoon has been looking for a premises in Tavistock for some time but a spokesperson said this week no specific site had been identified.
