VILLAGERS in East Cornwall and West Devon will have the chance to meet their new postmaster and postmistress Charles and Julie Mitchell next week.

Charles and Julie have taken over the post office at Gunnislake from Mary and Steve Taylor, who had their last day of trading on November 9, after more than 13 and a half years in business. Mary and Steve are moving to West Cornwall to prepare for another business venture.

Charles, originally from Tavistock, and Julie, from Callington, will continue with the post office’s outreach services at Marystowe Village Hall, Calstock, St Ann’s Chapel, Milton Abbot and Bere Ferrers.

The couple, who had a business in Plymouth for 14 years, decided to take over the post office at Gunnislake to be nearer to their family and to be in an area they both love.

Doors will open to the post office again on Thursday, November 23, and the outreach services will begin the following day, November 24.
