The Bedford Hotel in Tavistock has appointed a new general manager.

New GM Dylan Mulford already has a wealth of experience at The Bedford, having joined the hotel in 2001 and having worked in a wide range of roles including, latterly, assistant general manager.

Tavistock resident Dylan takes over the reins from Leanne Wills, who has been general manager since 2014.

Leanne has successfully guided the hotel through a period of refurbishment, growth and development which has seen the hotel pick up gold awards from Taste of the West for food and hospitality for four consecutive years, and most recently a gold award from Food Drink Devon.

Hotel director Sarah Howard said: ’We are so sorry to say farewell to Leanne, and we wish her every success in her next ventures. At the same time, we are delighted that Dylan is stepping up into the role of general manager, as he has a fantastic knowledge of the hotel and our customers, and is well placed to lead the hotel through its next stage of growth and development.

’The Bedford Hotel has a special place in the heart of Tavistock, and we are proud to have such a brilliant team looking after this unique place and our valued customers.’

Dylan Mulford said: ’I am really excited to be taking over at The Bedford. It’s such a special hotel, and we are honoured to have so many loyal customers and an excellent team.

’A warm welcome, traditional hospitality and exceptional food will always be at the core of what we do, and I’m looking forward to steering the hotel to even greater achievements as we move ahead.’
