St Mawgan 2

Gunnislake 2

A GOAL five minutes from time by new signing Tom Pilbeam earned Gunnislake a draw, but they still felt it was two points dropped, having had the greater part of play.

Gunnislake found themselves two goals behind before ten minutes had been played.

But then they made the majority of play with St Mawgan restricted to breakaway attacks.

Stuart Wakenshaw ran riot on the left wing and Own Locker caused similar difficulties on the opposite flank.

Pilbeam and Matt Avery, playing together in attack for the first time, caused problems with their pace and the former came closest to scoring in the first half after the two combined well.

Gunnislake halved the arrears on 60 minutes when Steve Gaggini found Wakenshaw who beat his man before firing home across the St Mawgan keeper. Openings came and went before the visitors equalised on 85 minutes through Pilbeam after a fantastic run and cross from veteran defender Ken Ord.

This Saturday sees Gunnislake away to Biscovey, kick-off 2.30pm.
