IT was all change at the top when Tavistock Business Association held its annual meeting on at the Bedford Hotel recently.
Outgoing president John Taylor handed the presidency over to David Whitcomb. Members then voted for Simon Luke as honorary secretary, Jeffrey Stackhouse as honorary treasurer and Mr Taylor as social secretary.
Mr Whitcomb outlined his hopes for the coming year. His main objective is that the association creates strong links with local groups who, like the TBA, are working to ensure that Tavistock remains a vibrant town in which to live and work.
The meeting closed with members thanking Mr Taylor for all his work and commitment during his year of office.
The association provides a monthly forum where members meet and discuss matters of local interest and, where appropriate, contact local authorities as well as business and heritage groups.
The association, originally known as the 31 Club, was first formed in 1980 by a well known 'Tavistokian', the late Robin Fenner.
Meetings are held on the fourth Wednesday of each month.
Anyone interested in joining can contact secretary Simon Luke on 01822 612023.
